A Pinnacle Moment Achieved in the Construction
of the New Cable-stayed Bridge

On Friday, July 28, 2000, a Kiewit construction team hoisted the "pyramid cap" to the top the south tower of the cable-stayed bridge.
The bridge towers were designed to reflect the nearby Bunker Hill Monument.

This marks the
official halfway point of the construction of the cable-stayed bridge. The bridge deck now spans half-way across the Charles River Basin. See the six photos below, taken from on top of the Fleet Center.
