Notes:
This film is based on the true story of Jock Yablonski and his attempt to unseat corrupt Tony Boyle as leader of the United Mine Workers in 1969. Yablonski had been a loyal union man until an accident in a West Virginia coal mine killed 80 workers and Boyle defended the mine owners rather than the rank-and-file working in unsafe conditions. Boyle stole the election from Yablonski and sent assassins to murder his family.
