1970 - Documentary film Woodstock, directed by Michael Wadleigh released March 26, 1970, about the Woodstock rock concert of 1969 at Max Yasgur's dairy farm in Bethel, New York on August 15-17, won Oscar for Best Documentary of 1970.
1972 - NBC Evening News for January 10: (1) Baton Rouge riot (2) US Naval task led by U.S.S. Enterprise force in Bay of Bengal leaves for S. China Sea (3) Sheik Mujibur Rahman returns to a free Bangladesh with hatred for no one, but satisfaction that truth has triumphed over falsehood, welcomed by thousands (4) Nixon may have supported W. 1995 - Kissinger and Nixon, TV film broadcast Dec. 10 on TNT, directed by Daniel Petrie, based on the 1992 biography of Henry Kissinger by Walter Isaacson, with Beau Bridges as Nixon and Ron Silver as Kissinger.
1995 - Nixon, feature film released Dec. 20 by Buena Vista Pictures, directed by Oliver Stone, with Anthony Hopkins and Joan Allen as Dick and Pat.
1998 - Cold War, documentary TV series by CNN in 24 episodes, broadcast Dec. 1998 and Jan. 1999.
2000 - Remember the Titans, feature film released Sept. 23, directed by Boaz Yakin, based on the true story of T. C. Williams High School in Alexandria, Virginia, where Herman Boone was appointed the first black coach of the integrated high school football team in 1971.
2001 - The Dish, feature film released in the U.S. March 14, directed by Rob Sitch, about the Australian TV relay station that broadcast the live picture from Apollo 11 on April 20, 1969.
2002 - The Weather Underground, documentary film directed by Sam Green and Bill Siegel, produced by KQED.
2003 - The Pentagon Papers, feature film directed by Rod Holcomb, broadcast by FX, based on the true story of Daniel Ellsberg who leaked the papers to the New York Times in 1971.
2004 - Going Upriver: The Long War of John Kerry, documentary film released oct. 1, directed by George Butler, based on the 2004 book Tour of Duty, by Douglas Brinkley.
2006 - Billie Jean King: Portrait of a Pioneer, documentary TV episode of "Sports in the 20th Century" by HBO, broadcast April 25, about King's promotion of women's tennis, Associated Press's Woman Athlete of the Year in 1967 and 1973, Sports Illustrated's Sportswoman of the Year in 1972, Time Magazine's Woman of the Year in 1976. Her match with Bobby Riggs was broadcast from the Houston Astrodome on September 20, 1973. drawing the largest TV audience yet for a live tennis match, estimated at 50 million.
