Over the Rainbow

Music by Harold Arlen with lyrics by E.Y. Harburg, 1939, sung by Judy Garland in the MGM film Wizard of Oz

Somewhere over the rainbow, way up high
There's a land that I heard of once in a lullaby
Somewhere over the rainbow, skies are blue
And the dreams that you dare to dream really do come true!

Someday I'll wish upon a star
and wake up where the clouds are far behind me
Where troubles melt like lemon drops
Away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me!

Somewhere over the rainbow, bluebirds fly
Birds fly over the rainbow, why then oh why can't I?

( Someday I'll wish upon a star
and wake up where the clouds are far behind me
Where troubles melt like lemon drops
Away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me! )

Somewhere over the rainbow, bluebirds fly
Birds fly over the rainbow, why then oh why can't I?
If happy little bluebirds fly, beyond the rainbow
Why oh why can't I!
