Introduction



Ted Williams is often remembered as the greatest hitter to ever live. But what many people are not aware of is that Ted was also a great fighter pilot during World War II and The Korean War. This web page gives you a brief look at Ted's childhood in San Diego to show how he was raised and the type of person he was growing up. More importantly this web page looks at Ted's service to his country as a pilot during World War II and his accomplishments as a pilot in the Navy.

During Ted's baseball career there were many stories about Ted's accomplishments on the baseball field and while fishing. Although, some of the greatest stories about Ted Williams are about his time serving his country. The greatest story being how he barely escaped death during the Korean War.
